  • ■ Small Sa
  • Profile:
Born in 1992, Small Sa was graduated from Department of Visual Arts of National Pingtung University. She demonstrated her passion for drawing at age two or three and devoted herself to becoming an artist in childhood. She made two comic story books with the personification of fruits as the painting theme at fourth grade, which won her acclaims from schoolteachers and classmates. And since then she never stops painting. Thanks to her parents, she grew up in an environment full of music and art which helped sharpen her sensitivity and appreciation of aesthetic creativity.
She discovered the beauty of human curve in her sophomore year. Her ensuing creation follows this trajectory, with arch lines in combination of vivid colors and modern trendy geometric figures to establish her own visual language and cheerful caricature style. Her art beautifully reflects a young mind’s imagination, curiosity, and enjoyment for exploring the wonder of the world.
Small Sa
  • Using arch lines and geometric shapes, Small Sa likes to transfer her impression of stage light onto canvas, turning human figures and objects into divided, transfiguring color blocks. With a refreshing caricature style, her works fill with youthful vitality and resonate as musical notes. The hands in her painting seem to be ”oversized” — for she believes that everyone needs to be cared for and that’s her way of bringing guardianship and light of life to the viewers.
She made her debut exhibition in the art fair of ART.easy 2015, from which she received many compliments and applauses. She had a complete sellout on the first day when her artworks posted on internet were open for preorder – the collectors placed orders by just viewing the photos of her paintings. During the actual exhibition, some heavy-weighted collectors and CEOs of architecture firms and high-tech companies even expressed their wishes to order her future creation. The warming feel emanating from her work and her exceptional color coordination make her creation so charmingly unique and widely favored.
Small Sa’s most sincere wish is to “bring pleasant surprise, soothing comfort and tacit smile to the beholders.” She will continue to use her own way to explore her “little cosmos,” engage dialogues with herself and the world, and transmit her joyful childlike innocent hearty sentiments to all art lovers.
