As an innovative art fair with curatorial concepts based on the dual axis of “artists at the center of the exhibition stage” and “designing the entire art fair as a colossal artwork,” the Art Revolution Taipei (A.R.T.) art platform held its first edition in May (2011) and soon won high praise, including the recognition of being an inspiration for artists in Taiwan and making a great impact on the Asian art market. Bringing together 203 artists from 22 countries, A.R.T. 2011 drew 26.681 collectors and art lovers over the course of the five-day event. In addition to that, 89.66% of the exhibiting artists (i.e., 182 artists) had transactions – a performance comparable to some top art fairs of the world such as Art Basel.
Launching on March 21, 2012, the second A.R.T. event is curated by Mr. Lee Sun-Dun, the Art Director and an artist represented by the X-Power Gallery, who is reputed as the Oriental Picasso of the 21st Century. There will be 202 exhibiting artists from 26 nations, who will demonstrate before us how they elevate themselves creatively – this 2012 event is surely to be more spectacular than the first edition.
Art Director Mr. Lee Sun-Dun features a special design for the thematic spirit of A.R.T. 2012, with a colossal installation titled “Soul of Art” up to 4 meters in height. It’s to express the ‘hot souls’ from exhibiting artists devote themselves to create their ultimate artworks. Other artists represented by the X-Power Gallery, including Christiane Vleugels, Liu Baojun, TT, Singway, Yuan Zhibin, Ling Ling, MANIHOO, Qi Zhenghui, GOGO YU, Ma Sing Ling, Mou Lu, and Lai Ya-Chi, are invited to exhibit their stunning latest works, which are bound to eye-catching.
